Congress

In recent years, cast plaster ornaments and figures have regained interest. Plaster collections nearly 200 years old are being dusted off and thus regaining their place in art history. In addition, old cast building ornaments are now in need of maintenance or restoration.

The aim of the symposium and exhibition is to create both national and international attention to the application of cast plaster in two manifestations: as building ornaments, the plaster models for art (craft) education. Also contemporary applications in construction in interiors, in art education.

Speakers from home and abroad will highlight topics from different perspectives: art movements, theory, practice, applications, research, consolidation, education, craft. The diversity that will be addressed helps to address a broad audience for this symposium: scholars, museums, designers, policy makers, curators and conservators, artists, craftspeople, students and other interested parties and people.
